Pre-qualified cold chain solutions are insulated shipper systems that have already been validated for defined temperature ranges, durations, and distribution conditions. At Altor, these systems undergo thermal and ISTA-based distribution testing to confirm temperature control, pack-out reliability, and durability—helping teams deploy faster with reduced validation effort.
Altor engineers thermal shipping systems using high-performance insulation, optimized refrigerant configurations, and validated pack-outs to maintain stable internal temperatures. Designs are developed to minimize excursion risk across real-world shipping conditions, seasonal variations, and handling environments.
Altor insulated shippers can be configured for multiple cold chain profiles including Controlled Room Temperature (CRT), 2–8°C refrigerated, and frozen ranges. Performance depends on shipper size, duration, ambient exposure, payload, and refrigerant selection.
ISTA testing evaluates packaging against real-world distribution hazards such as drop, vibration, and compression. For cold chain applications, ISTA-based validation ensures both structural integrity and thermal performance are maintained throughout transit.
Since thermal and distribution testing is already completed under defined profiles, pre-qualified insulated shipper systems can significantly reduce new validation requirements. This accelerates deployment, improves consistency across shipping lanes, and lowers qualification effort.
Passive thermal shipping uses insulation and refrigerants to maintain temperature without external power. Active systems use powered cooling/heating. Altor focuses on high-performance passive insulated shippers designed for dependable temperature control and operational efficiency.

EmeraldPak is Altor’s highest recycled-content EPS solution engineered for cold chain applications. It helps reduce virgin material usage while maintaining the thermal insulation, durability, and distribution performance required for temperature-sensitive shipments.
Yes. Altor can design customized thermal packaging based on lane duration, ambient profile, payload size, regulatory needs, and performance targets—ensuring optimized temperature protection and cost efficiency.
Start with temperature range, required duration, payload size, and expected shipping conditions. Altor helps match your needs to either a pre-qualified insulated shipper or a custom thermal solution to maximize reliability and total cost of ownership.
